When the engine is cold, I like to always have the
oil level almost to the top of the window with the
bike on level ground. I never let it go below the
upper line. While you certainly don't want to over
fill the bike, it's better to have a little too much
than not enough. With 33K on my bike in less than
a year and a half I've had no engine touble.
